MAWU at Marjory Smarth's fundraiser

We had the opportunity to perform for one of the most beautiful people in the world, Marjory Smarth. She is a very influential figure in the house dance scene, and a big inspiration to us. She's battling breast cancer right now, but will definitely beat it!

I'm glad we were able to take her mind off of it for a little bit, and do this fun tribute to her. We tried to emulate her style and choreography too!

I went to London to work with House of Dangerkat to promote Nova Dando's Rainbow Collection. We performed at the Hospital Club and opened up for La Roux, and we did a guerrilla fashion show for the people waiting in line to get into the PPQ show.

When I was on vacation in Europe, Ice Age was released and I was able to see the different ads and products they had to offer in other countries. I wish they had Calippo shots in the US...they were pretty tasty!

Popsicle ad in Sardinia.

Calippo Shots. They are lemon and cola flavored, and were really refreshing on the beach.

But when they start to melt, they look pretty gross.

This white chocolate Kinder Egg is more delicious than the regular eggs. It's like a pudding you scoop out with a spoon, and the balls are some crunchy hazelnut goodness.

This Ice Age cup was some vanilla/chocolate dairy thing which wasn't that tasty. But it came with a rubber medal that was way cooler than the drawing on the cup.

Ice Age in Prague is called "Doba Ledova". The McDonald's toys are pretty cool (pics to come later). There is a popsicle mold so that you can have Sid, Manny, or Scrat shaped popsicles. They also have cups that change color when you add a cold drink.

Found another set of kinder egg toys. It's a 4 piece scene that you have to put stickers on.

I met Pat McGrath! I'm a beauty junkie in training, so I jumped at the opportunity to meet Pat, who does all the best shows, all the Meisel shoots, and basically all the best shit.

She was really nice, and picked out beautiful summer colors for me from the new Dolce and Gabbana makeup line.

Another exciting thing that day was that Rebecca Glasscock from Rupaul's Drag Race was one of the makeup artists. Even though he was all banjee'd out I could tell who he was! I didn't want to talk to her because she was a such a biatch on the show...but the guy working on me told me that he's really nice in person...and was just "misunderstood" on the show.

Homegirl still needs to work on her walk, though!

Ok, so my scene was deleted. I don't think the world was ready for it. I was supposed to be Sushi Waitress #1. The kids are at the restaurant, someone tips me, and then like at Coldstone Creamery, the restaurant does a song and dance. I was going to have a little solo, and then do some runway on top of the tables, and then we reveal Jonte', who is the Hostess. Then Javier Ninja, and Isaac, the sushi chefs do some voguing solos as well. Then we do a J-Setting routine, and teach it to the restaurant.

Would have been fierce! So much for my dance dream!

Too bad they cut the scene...didn't even hear the news until I ran into all of the dancers at Pop Burger. No call from Production, till a week later. Fortunately I live in NY, and didn't lose any money. Poor Isaac flew himself from LA and they didn't even tell him that rehearsal was cancelled. What bastards.

I got the opportunity to shoot the wonderfully talented Jonte! I take classes from him whenever he teaches, because his choreography is so fantastic...clean, precise, funky, motivated, clever...it's everything those LA street jazz people want to do with choreography, but can't! He also dances and choreographs for Beyonce, and you can see him in the Freakum Dress and Get Me Bodied videos. I was super flattered that Women Management liked my Natalia (Naty) pictures so much that they wanted me to do the same thing for Alison Nix. Alison doesn't test usually, but they needed pictures of her longer 'do. Super cool girl, I love that she's not a typical model. I had fun showing her my vids from ball I had gone to the night before, and showing her my runway walk. Turns out, she loves trannies too!

Oh and here's another thing that's cool about her. Hello Kitty made a cellphone charm of her Dior outfit!

So another 'slash' to my dancer/photographer/lighting TD title is 'Fur Technical Director'. What does that mean? I was a digital hairstylist for the film 'Horton Hears a Who'! I put fur on this weird Katie character (who is a baby yak, BTW) and styled it. I also made the purple and red koosh-looking plants at the beginning of the shot.

I also did the scratch voice for her. Unfortunately, they replaced my voice with a real child.

We had an hour to dance, and had no idea what music he was going to play. So what did we do to take up time? Costume changes!

It was a bazillion degrees out and we were so dehydrated. I thought I was going to pass out on stage. I even threw up afterwards. Success!
